Hi there! Two of my greatest loves in life are ASL and working with Children!! I have been working in the child care provider field , along side parents to provide fun and exciting education to small children for over 11 years now. I have a degree in sign language interpretation from the University of New Hampshire- Manchester, with a concentration in early childhood education from Rivier College, in Nashua, New Hampshire. My story: While assistant teaching at a preschool and attending college the lead teacher got the brilliant idea that I should teach the children a few signs to go along with our weekly theme. It was a success!! And both the Parents and children loved it! Six years later a Time to Sign video was introduced in one of the training classes at the preschool I taught at in Northern VA. After viewing the video one of the teachers said "Hey Ebony you know sign language right?"... So, now here I am with Time to Sign doing and sharing what I LOVE!! Hi! My name is Sue Cress, wife of Dennis, a pastor; mother of Micah, Jonathan and Nathan; Gramamma to Shami, Mali, and Jonny. My family and I have lived in North Chicago, IL, way up north by the Wisconsin border, for more than 20 years. And while being a pastor's wife is my foremost vocation, I also have been with the North Chicago School District for over 16 years, working with kindergarten and the Preschool Enrichment Program. Along with teaching responsibilities in church, I have been involved with children of all age levels, and have always used sign language as a means of enhancing communication with them in every aspect. That is why the philosophy of Time to Sign and all the materials and services they offer was so appealing to me. Joining the Time to Sign company was something that was so natural to  me. I am a teacher of pre-k children with special needs. Using sign was something I did to help all the children in my class I knew minimal sign and was looking for ways to help my children more. I attended a weekend long workshop in TX and saw Lillian. I took everything she showed us back to my school and enhanced my classroom dramatically. I have a love of children, and signing is something that I am passionate about.
